Element Definition

Injection zone formation water salinity is defined as the concentration of total dissolved solids (TDS) in formation water within the designated CO₂ injection interval of a geologic storage formation. For this element, formation water salinity includes measured or interpreted TDS values associated with the injection zone, derived from formation water samples, geophysical logs, or regional hydrogeologic models. Only data attributed to formations identified as potential CO₂ storage reservoirs are included.
